MariaSCOTT - (BARBARAVILLE)Maria (Meme) nee Holgate, passed away on Thursday 6th August 2026, as the result of a tragic accident, aged 60 years.

Beloved wife and soul mate of Paul, a much loved mum of Duncan and Callum, mother in law and friend of Laura, loving daughter of Louisa, a dear sister of Antonia and sister in law of Michael and a cherished auntie of Jenny, Rachel, Harry and David. Meme will be very much missed by all of her extended family and many friends.

Requiem Mass to be held in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Invergordon on Monday 31st August 2026, commencing at 11am, thereafter to Rosskeen Cemetery.

All friends respectfully invited. Colourful clothing welcome. Family flowers only please, but a donation, if desired, can be made at the Mass for Invergordon R.N.L.I and Blooming Gardners.

So unbelievably sad to lose one of my bestest bestest mates, godmother to my kids, and sister to my wife.
Meme, you taught me so much……..
- How to negotiate the Tower of Terror on our Disney holidays
- Lots of plant names which went in one ear and out the other without ever troubling a brain cell.
- How to staple together my wedding order of service without puncturing my finger meaning only the first two or three had smears of the groom’s blood on them.
- How to persuade Xan to give up her 2CV by crashing into the back of it (a solution I would never have come up with!)
- How to drink Pimms……oh god HOW TO DRINK PIMMS!!!
- The efficacy of three fingered gestures to errant drivers.
- How to dance like you just. don’t. care.
- How to laugh
- How to enjoy every minute of life
- How it really doesn’t matter if you walk around Exmoor in your underwear because no one can see you (though I still struggle with this concept)
